Get ready to pedal into the future of high school sports with our Virtual Cycling High Schools Tournament – where the competition is fierce, the journey is unforgettable, and the virtual road is yours to conquer!
We’re excited to introduce our inaugural Virtual Cycling High Schools Tournament in 2024. An opportunity for students to be immersed into the exciting world of virtual cycling through Zwift and hosted in QUT’s state of the art Virtual Sports Studio. Schools can enter teams of students in a new, fun, and exciting relay style event. Teams will compete in preliminary rounds with winning teams then progressing to battle it out in a final’s series held in conjunction with our 2024 Sport Tech Challenge.

Schools can register teams to one (1) of the Preliminary rounds listed above.
Registration Fees= $100 per team (teams of 4-5 students)
Capacity- 6 places available per race category

Tournament Inclusions
Team registration fee includes:
- Participation in Preliminary round (1) and Finals Series if your team progresses
- Access to 1 x training session per week for your team/school to utilise the QUT Virtual Sports Studio leading up to the event.
Event spectators and viewing
Parents/Guardians and school spectators are welcome to attend and support the event.
The finals series will take place at the 2024 Sport Tech Challenge and will be broadcast via Twitch.
FAQ
Q: Does a school representative (teacher/coordinator/volunteer) need to be present?
A: Yes, we will require all attending teams/schools to be accompanied by a staff member or nominated volunteer from the school for the duration of the event.
Q: If my race is later in the evening does my team still need to be there at by 4pm?
A: No, The main briefing will be held at 4pm however, we will hold another breifing at approx 6:45pm. All teams must attend one of the breifings.
Q: Can students cycle in cleats?
A: Unfortunately not for this tournament
Q: Does the technology utilised meet school and government esafety regulations?
A: Yes
Q: Can we bring our team/school into the facility prior to the tournament?
A: Yes, teams/schools can arrange a tour of the facility and up to 1 training session/week in the lead up to the tournament.
