Queensland Walks is hosting a Walk and Talk series.
As well as a walk, we’re hosting a mini Walkshop looking at how and why people walk and the things within the environment that can encourage and discourage walking.
The walk will include several stops where we will talk about the things we’ve seen along the way and how they encourage or discourage more walking.
After a walk we’ll have a debrief where we can suggest improvements and talk about the ways we can advocate for improvements to encourage walking in your area.
As part of this activity we will celebrate Jane Jacobs and the international event Jane’s Walk with a discussion.
Suitable for: people with an interest in walking. This walk includes a rather hilly area and includes some narrow footpaths.
Bring: sun protection, water, umbrella.
Wheelchair users and others with mobility needs are encouraged to join us. However, please note that the streets are quite hilly. Please contact us if you have any mobility requirements so that we can accommodate and plan.
