The Queensland Thunder Team was formed in 2018 and is the only Queensland team granted a licence to play in the AWL.

In 2023 Thunder was excited to announce our newest sponsor - Griffith University, who will continue their support for our 2024 season.

The Queensland Thunder squads for 2023  boasted both current and retired Olympians and 12 National Squad Members across its men’s and women’s teams. The Queensland Thunder Committee will shortly be announcing squads for the 2024 AWL season.
