History

The QLD Sonics was formed in 2011 by Sylvia Nugent, Paul Jarvis and Karen Javis to empower and motivate Queensland junior paddlers with the formation of a Queensland Junior Development Squad.

The Sonics Junior Development Squad was set up to coach and develop juniors so they can experience training and opportunities that they may not receive in their current club. It was open to all juniors in QLD and was designed to meet once a month during the on season.

The first Development Camp was held on the 13-15 Jan 2012 and was attended by 32 Junior paddlers.
