Since its inception in 2004, the UQ Sport 1500m Classic has been a regular fixture on the Queensland Athletics calendar, kicking off the track and field season!
The event – to be held on Thursday 31 October – consists of only 1500m races, with events for school-age, masters, race walking, and elite-level competitors.
Year-on-year, the 1500m Classic attracts hundreds of competitors from all over Australia, with all races seeded based on performance.
This year’s event will feature more than 20 races, with a total prize pool of $5,600 up for grabs. Winners of the feature Men’s and Women’s 1500m Classic races will receive $1,500 in prize money.
