Volleyball Australia Emerging Talent Program (QLD)

The Emerging Talent Program is the entry-level program into the Volleyball Australia and Queensland Academy of Sport performance pathway in Queensland and we currently have eight centres across South-East Queensland. We are a participation training program (as opposed to a volleyball club team that competes) targeted towards long-term athlete development to help progress athletes up the volleyball pathway in Australia. Athletes train once per week during school terms, and the trainings typically include specific technical or tactical work which is then developed into gameplay or other gameplay scenarios. Athletes are not specialised into specific positions in our program and hence, athletes will learn and develop key skills to be able to play all positions.

Elite Development Volleyball Pathway Program (QLD)
The Volleyball Australia / Queensland Academy of Sport Volleyball Program is a partnership between Volleyball Australia (VA) and the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS).

The Elite Development Volleyball Program was established to provide a regular high performance training environment for young athletes that have been identified as having the potential to play volleyball (beach and/or indoor) at the international level for Australia, with the ultimate goal of successful performance at the Olympics.

The Elite Development Program practice at the Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre and Sandstorm Beach Club, both located in Nathan. These squads are comprised of athletes who have been identified by Volleyball Australia coaches and National Pathway Talent Identification scouts. This program trains dual discipline, beach and indoor volleyball, twice a week and the scholarship period runs from April to March the following year.

The VA/QAS Volleyball Program feeds into school, club, and state squad activities. We encourage all of our athletes to participate in these other programs simultaneously with their Elite Development training to create a daily training regimen.

Please find more information about our squads and programs below or contact the Volleyball Australia Program Manager - Dean Bielanowski via email at QAS.etc@volleyball.org.au if you have further questions or enquiries.
