About the Program
Pine Rivers Inline Hockey Club offer the Skate Australia and Inline Hockey Australia Mighty Pucks Program to under 15 year old participants who want to learn inline hockey.
The Program includes a 1 hour session per week, commencing in February and runs for three school terms, breaking for the holidays. The sessions are held on Monday 5pm to 6pm at SkateAway, Albany Creek. It is a fun and structured program that has 4 achievement levels to reach - bronze, silver, gold and platinum. The sessions are instructed by qualified Dragons coaches.
The duration to complete the Program from bronze to platnium will depend on the skill and determination of the participant. It is however, usual for the beginner levels to take up to 10 weeks (each) to achieve, however participants may progress at a level that suits them. They may take longer or less time with the emphasis on fun and achievement!

Equipment
All participants are required to have their own hockey skates. Whilst it is encouraged and recommended that players purchase their own protective equipment, PRILHC registered Mighty Puck development players can hire protective equipment at a cost. Players will be fitted out with protective equipment that is available from the store room which can be used during the session.
This equipment will include:
- helmet;
- elbow pads;
- shin pads;
- gloves; and

Whilst wearing of girdles and pelvic protector / protective cup are strongly recommended to prevent injury, PRILHC does not hire these items to members.
Between sessions, hired equipment is to be stored in PRILHC provided individual equipment bags labelled with the players name and will be retained in the coaches equipment room on the hooks on the wall.
The cost of the hire will be applied to the players term fee invoice and is typically $30 per term, however the cost is set at the start of each year when the Term Fees are set and scheduled.
SkateAway has a proshop that sells all the equipment required, and if they don't have it in stock, they can order it in for you.
