Pretoria Sailing Club is hosting an Open Weeekend in celebration of the SA Sailing 75th Anniversay in support of the National SA Sailing Initiative to get as many sailing boats on the water as possible over the course of the long weekend.

We encourage all our members and our broader Sailing Community to invite family and friends to join in the celebrations with a weekend of "Free Sailing" as there will be no organized club races. As part of the innitaitive, and to track the number of attendees, we kindly request that you register for the event and add all the guests that will be joining you.

There is no charge to attend and limited camping will be available at no charge on a first come - first serve basis (registraion for camping is required, with guest details and the number of evenings to be specified - this is necessary to provide the information to the Rietvlei Nature Reserve).

For those that are interested in "Team Sailing" and would like to experience this exciting sailing format, we invite you to enter a crew to sail in the Team Sailing Activities on the TSL boats. This will reguire you to register at a reduced rate of R150.00 per entry for the weekend (no matter how often you sail).

The entrants will form 2 teams of 3 boats per team - the teams will be randomly selected, or paired, depending on the experience of each of the entrants. Team Sailing activities will start no earlier than 10h00 each day (weather dependant).

The Format:    Short square format single lap races close inshore to allow for spectator participation

No of Races:    3 or 5 races per Team event (depending on the number of teams participating)

Team Selection:    If you are able to enter a team with 3 Boats, you are welcome to do so. Teams can also be randomly drawn, or paired, depending on the experience of the various crews. Our aim is to introduce this format to all sailing enthusiasts - team sailing experience is not required (the rules will be explained).

The League:   Each day, all race results will be tracked and all teams will get a chance to sail against each other.
