The aim of the PSC Sail Training Program is to introduce sailing to newcomers that are interested in the sport and would like to learn more.
The course is also open to those that have had some sailing experience, either on dinghies or keelboats, but would like to gain more knowledge about sailing terminology, basic sailing rules, practical on the water boat handling and sailing as a crew or skipper.
The two day course includes some classroom work based on course material that will be provided in advance, followed by practical on the water coaching and free sailing. The course material will be available via a link once you have registered.
By the end of the weekend you should have a good understanding of the basics of sailing and be able to rig the boat, launch safely, sail across all points of the wind, tack into wind and gybe off the wind, capsize and retrieve the boat, sail back to shore and land the boat safely before cleaning and derigging.
