Records Policy 2024 - 2025

Port Macquarie Athletics Club Record Guidelines

 

        Athletes that achieve a performance result in track and field events during club competition at Stuarts Park that is better than the current recorded Club Performance Record in Results HQ and aligned with the Record Guidelines (see below) may be identified as the new record holder.

        With the recent affiliation of Athletics NSW (ANSW) and Little Athletics NSW (LANSW), the best performance set in the new age groupings (16s) or new events e.g. 400m hurdles will be finalised at the end of the 24/25 season and recorded as the new record for the following 25/26 season. These will only be recorded as PB’s in the 2024/25 season.

        The Records Officer is responsible for maintaining the Club Performance Records Register on our official website and will update as new records are set through the season as able. The Records Officer will notify the social media team of any new Club Performance records in a timely fashion.

 

Track Events

        Is achieved at Stuarts Park during a scheduled club competition only (i.e. Friday Night competition)

        Electronic Timed track events - Providing the electronic gates are being used by a trained operator and the start and finishing times are controlled by the timing gate operator.  The results from the timing gate may be used to record a new club record. At least 1 current club executive committee member must be arranged to witness the whole event from start to finish

        For track events, that there was no external pacing of any form by athletes, parents or other non-participants either on or adjacent to the track during any part of the race.

        If you are considering attempting a club record in track please advise one of  the executive committee members in advance (before the event) to ensure that the electronic timing system will be used and that the event can be verified by a current club executive member.

 

 Field Events

 

        Is achieved at Stuarts Park during a scheduled club competition only (i.e. Friday Night competition)

        For field events, is correctly recorded and validated at the time of recording of  the performance by a minimum  of (1) Current Club Executive Committee (Shot Put to be witnessed (the same night) by a qualified throws coach or throws official to assess technique used – minimum level 1),

        If you are considering attempting a Club Record in Field, please advise one of the Current Club Executive Committee before attempting that field event
