Youth Indoor Phoenix is a state team program in New South Wales that offers a remarkable opportunity for young athletes aiming to represent their state at the Australian Youth Volleyball Championship (AYVC). This performance oriented program goes through a multi-stage selection process to secure the top athletes in each age group. The program then goes on to provide top athletes in each age group with elevated skill and game play training environments designed to prepare teams for the peak moment of the season – AYVC.
Trials
Youth Indoor Phoenix is gearing up for its upcoming trials, scheduled to take place starting from 25th of May to 8th of June. The trials are open to aspiring athletes born in 2011 and later. This two-stage selection process will determine the most promising athletes to progress further into the program. Athletes will be selected based off their skill, game IQ as well as their talent potential.
Playday
Designed to give athletes the opportunity to play and showcase their skills. Athletes who attended one of the trial sessions will be invited to kick off the full session with games on the 15th of June. After June 15th, the selections will be made based of the trial day and play day and only invited athletes will be able to progress into the Squad phase.
Squad Phase
Once trials are completed, successful athletes will enter the squad phase of the Youth Indoor Phoenix program. This phase offers a unique opportunity for selected athletes to receive intensive training and coaching, further honing their skills and preparing them for the challenges of the AYVC. The focus during this stage will be on positional and game system development in an open team environment. Athletes in this phase will be further evaluated on their techniques, competitive mindset and ability to perform during match play with top athletes being nominated to the Team.
Team Phase
Following the squad phase, the program enters the team phase, where the final selections are made to form the representative state teams. This is the final phase of the program where selected athletes will finalize their team systems and dynamics in a highly focused environment led by our experienced coaches and mentors. Ultimately the U14-U18 state teams will then travel to Bendigo to represent New South Wales at the AYVC, competing against other talented players from across Australia.
