Introducing the Head Coaches of NSW Phoenix
We are delighted to announce the head coaches for the NSW Phoenix Men’s and Women’s teams for the 2024 season.
Antony Rowda Returns as Men’s Head Coach
Leading the NSW Phoenix Men’s team once again is Antony Rowda, a respected figure in the volleyball community. Known affectionately as "Rowda," his journey in volleyball began after a career-ending injury in junior rugby. Rowda, who works as a commercial lawyer, started his volleyball career with Sydney Uni Volleyball Club, where he continues to be an active member. With 15 years of playing and 12 years of coaching experience, Rowda has been a significant presence in the Australian Volleyball League (AVL) for six years. He made history as the inaugural Head Coach for the Men’s team in the Australian Volleyball Super League. Fluent in four languages, Rowda is driven by a commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for helping others excel.
Chris Todd Takes the Helm Once Again for the Women’s Team
Chris Todd, known as "Toddy," again steps into the role of Head Coach for the NSW Phoenix Women’s team. Toddy, who currently leads the NSW Phoenix Pathway as Head Coach, brings over 20 years of experience in volleyball. He has dedicated the past decade to coaching full-time, boasting 13 seasons as a player and 7 as a coach in the AVL. Toddy’s volleyball journey began as a distraction from studying for exams, but it quickly became a lifelong passion. He draws inspiration from individuals who are passionate about their pursuits and is eager to lead the Phoenix Women’s team to success this season.
