Port Adelaide Rowing Club is the home of rowing in South Australia. Established in 1877 we are the oldest operating rowing club in South Australia. PARC has a rich local and national history equivalent to any rowing club in Australia.
We are proud to be a friendly, open club welcoming people into the sport of rowing regardless of age, experience, ability or status. We are a strongly family orientated club and our membership includes families of grandparents, parents and young people and our social activities are family friendly. Our active rowers ages range from as young as 12 years of age up to the mid-eighties.
Based on the banks of the Port River, the club is active all year long. We are one of the few non-school rowing clubs to welcome junior rowers and teach them rowing basics. We also offer anyone the opportunity to come along and join our Learn to Row program, in a safe and friendly environment, often with one-on-one beginner coaching.
Sunday mornings (after 9am) are a great time for an informal visit to the club for a look around and to arrange a time to try rowing or, for those with previous rowing experience, to talk about joining a competitive squad or social rowing group.
Furthermore, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings around 8am you’ll find a dedicated group of senior rowers taking out singles, doubles, quads or an eight for a leisurely row either into the Port or down the North Arm. Why not come along they would love you to join them for a row and a coffee in the clubrooms afterwards.
We also row in the afternoons, although times can vary. Currently we have training sessions Monday row 4.30pm, Tuesday gym 5.20pm, Thursday row/gym 5.30pm.
