Registrations for this event are closed.

A gathering to recognise the gallant First World War service of Lt Col Douglas Marks DSC MC on the centenary of his tragic and heroic death at Palm Beach. His death was a very strong impetus for the creation of the Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club. Join members of the Marks Family, the author of The Boy Colonel and many others to hear about his service, to view a memorabilia and a slide show. This will be followed by a morning tea. Partners are welcome.

Please note, this gathering is "by invitation only".

The gathering follows the public "naming" of the Lt Colonel Douglas Marks DSO MC Pavilion by the Northern Beaches Council and the unveiling of a memorial plaque attached to the Pavilion by the Australia Remembers Commitee.
