Event information
This event has passed.
BATs is our club based junior aged sailing activity for kids/youth who have completed the Tackers Program (all 3 levels) or a similar learn to sail program. BATs is for students who are ready to learn the skills of dinghy racing and hone their sailing skills. The focus is still on fun and this is enhanced by learning the new skills associated with racing.
BATs participants are expected to become Junior Members of the club so please go to the Membership tab to register as such prior to registering for the course.
The days will look like this:
12h30 - 13h30 - on water training/ instruction
13h30 - 15h30 - join in racing with club or sail a course with the support of the club's already on water support team.
VIP NOTE: Volunteers are the life blood of our club, they are the people who teach your children to sail, support them on the water and cook their sausage sizzles! We are reliant on volunteers to continue to provide our Tackers & BATs programs - as part of signing up to BATs your family will be required to provide 1 session of volunteering over the 6 weeks. A roster will be sent out via email with your date and contact list - if you are unable to make your date, please reach out to the other parents to fill your spot and let Keri know. If you have a specific date which suits you best- why not drop her an email as soon as you register to get it, first in best dressed!
What does volunteering look like:
Launching - Help sailors launch and retrieve their boats, keeping launch access organised and safe makes a big difference to sailors.
Packup - Checking everything is not left out, locked away, and all secure.
Sausage Sizzle - Prep, cooking, serving, washing up and packing away.
On Water - If you have powerboat license or sailing experience we would LOVE to hear from you!
