2025 IDBF WDBRC Expressions of Interest

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST NOW OPEN:
IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships 2025 in Brandenburg (Germany)!
The NZDBA are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) paddlers, callers and sweeps.

Paddler eligibility
To be considered for selection for the Black Dragons, a paddler must:
- Be eligible to represent New Zealand according to the current IDBF Competition Regulation & Rules of Racing of residency and nationality.
- Be a registered member the NZDBA through a recognised Dragon Boat Regional Sports Organisation (RSO)
- Commit to doing their best and to achieving all reasonable training and performance objectives as presented by their coach(es).
- Be prepared and able to travel as required to training events when given adequate notification of any event or session that may be “away from home”
- Be prepared and able to travel internationally to attend a WDBRC event.
National Representative Committee (NRC)
Expressions of interest closed in October 2024, for the 2025 National Representative Committee (NRC).
The NRC will ensure that the National Representative Policy is adhered to and the Black Dragons program is driving for continual improvement.
The NRC is expected to:
- Select the National Coach and Manager
- Assist with the selection of the Black Dragons squad members
- Provide feedback on the policy to ensure the longevity and sustainability of the Black Dragons program
- Keep up to date with IDBF rules and regulations.

There was a high calibre of applicants, and the NZDBA Board of Management has accepted the following people onto the NRC:
- Stephanie Mott (Eastern and Waikato)
- Heather Bisset (Auckland)
- Brooke Hargreaves (Eastern)
*The NZDBA Board Members who had expressed an interest, all stood aside from the vote for membership onto the NRC.
