Under 15 & 18 NWL Academy for State Trials

In addition to the North West Lightning Development Academy that will run in early 2023, we are offering an academy for players wishing to trial for the 2023 Under 15 or Under 18 State teams. The aim of the Academy is to prepare players for the rigors of State trials and to improve chances of selection in the State Academy and ultimately the State team.

The six-session program will cover fitness, skills and drills used and designed by a current State coach. Some sessions will also include information from nutritionists, physiotherapists, fitness coaches, specialized goalie coaches and the opportunity to watch and learn from the ‘best of the best’ at the Hockey One finals.

The sessions will be held on a Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday mornings. Every effort will be made to organise accommodation on the Saturday night for Academy members who don’t reside in Bendigo.

Who: Players born in 2005 - 2009

Cost: $120 ($100 for 2nd or more family members)

The Academy is capped at 20 participants. If it is oversubscribed, selection will be based on the Lightning JSC coach feedback or replicated with separate Under 15 and Under 18 programs. This Academy has been subsidised by North West Lightning, with fees charged to cover pitch hire, coach fee, specialist health sessions and travel.
