INTER CLUB CLASHSES A MIXED BAG OF RESULTS!

Softball clubs had their first round of inter club games on Saturday and the results may have been a surprise for punters! Juniors moved to 11 am for both their games and played at the same time instead of 9am and 11am. Diamond 1 was occupied by Eagle Blue and Gold whilst Saints Red and White featured on the grass diamond. Eagles Blue over Eagles Gold in a close game in the end finishing 6-5. Finlay Antypas out of the circle for Eagles Gold and Kaeden Marshall finishing the duty, Dean Pinel starting pitcher for Eagles blue and eventually handing the ball over to Shayla Brand to close the game out. Lan McKenzie taking a much needed catch in the outfield steadied the ship for Eagles Gold handing them the chance to close the gap on a fast finishing Eagles Blue. Angus Perry, Logan and Blake Payne, Shayla Brand all doing well from the batters box and scoring for their side. Finlay Antypas, Max Stepchuk, Lucy Williams and Kaeden Marshall stepping up for Eagles Gold but not quite enough to steel it away from Eagles Blue. From the grass diamond Saints White battle with stable mates Saints Red. Saints White up and about and coming up trumps over their rivals Saints Red in a fairly one sided game 8-2. Chase McFerran-Shepherd pitching for Saints Red to catcher Riff Kemp, Kai Martin-Sheppard out of the circle to catcher Ryleigh Emms for Saints White. In the outfield for Red Samuel Cunningham, Ethan Jarman and Archie Moore, and the infield kept busy by Sophie Jarman, Taylah Osbourne, Isabelle North and Sienna Bell. For Saints White the defensive side doing their job to keep the score line low, Joey Cunningham, Tarkyn Roden, Lucy Painting all doing their job in the outfield from the infield Ella Swan, Jakobe Reeves, Harry Mowat, Eamah Farrel protecting the short plays and shutting the game down.

Open Women at 1pm, Eagles Blue v Eagles Gold. Eagles Gold eventual winners in a close game 7-5. The game stayed with in a point or two trough out the game and went down to the wire right to the end. Eliesha Gardner pitched the game for gold and Sophie Tatnell for Blue. Gardner with 10k2’s on the day made it difficult for Blue to score. Taylor Fogg stretching for a much needed catch at second base a potential game changer for Blue but it wasn’t to be. Caitlyn Pinel, Taylor Fogg, Sophie Tatnell and Shayla Brand all crossing the plate for Eagles Blue, Tammy Marshall scoring at every bat in an outstanding game for her, Tunisha Kikoak, Kaeden Marshall and Lellani Kikoak scoring the winning runs for Gold. The game between Saints Red and Saints Black finished early due to a medical incident. Saints Red were looking the goods over Black early on. Belinda McFerren with the pitching duty for Red and Kayleen Woodcock for Saints Black. Angela Post Homered for Black in an outfield home run and ran all four bases to score for the side. Terri Szabo, Bridget Freeman, Leah Bender and Kelly Hodgetts all doing damage with the bats for Saints Red. Jodie Bannister solid and bat and again at third base. The game called and reverting back to the first inning with a 7-2 score line going to Saints Red.
