Hi all,

Thank you once again for attending the Level 2 Referee Course. I would like to congratulate all of you for becoming Level 2 Candidates. I will get confirmation from VA regarding Level 2 Candidacy status and upon confirmation, I or a VA representative will send through your certificates.

Slides: Please find a copy of the slides here

Opportunities:  community@nswvbrefs.org.au and appointments@nswvbrefs.org.au are in charge of community volleyball referee allocations and SVL/ AVL (big tournaments) appointments respectively. Please send through an email to these email addresses if you choose to be part of the wider volleyball community.

Upgrades: Here’s a link to a very important site from VARC. It is a link to all the resources that you will need from requirements for upgrades, the referee log (which is also attached in the email), shortcuts to the rules/ guidelines/ casebook and more. I strongly advise (again) that when you do ask for a full game assessment, you tick all the boxes for the Level 2 Referee’s Competency (also attached) before requesting a full game assessment. When you are ready, email Sam @ appointments@nswvbrefs.org.au to see when it's possible to have an assessment.

When you have fulfilled all requirements (3 x 1st (1 x min. assessment) etc…)  for Level 2, you can submit your log form to secretary@nswvbrefs.org.au. Your application will be assessed by the NSWVRA board who will decide on your Level 2 Accreditation endorsement to VA.

Payments: For payments of referee games, your best contact is Laymond (also cc’d treasurer@nswvbrefs.org.au). We will be using your bank details from RevSport such that he can process your referee payments.

Mentorship: As a bonus to the workshop, I mentioned in the course, we don't have an active mentorship program but if you want to learn more or progress further in the officiating side of volleyball, I suggest you find yourself a mentor/s. This person or these people can be someone you trust, someone who can give you feedback, or someone who you enjoy working with to be your mentor.

NSWVRA membership: If you would like to pursue a refereeing career, please join our member base on Revsport. We will automatically place you in our emailing list for refereeing opportunities, events and so much more!

Final remarks: Laymond will be handing you your Level 1 badge, NSWVRA pin, and a whistle (red, yellow, blue, or black - you can choose) through an agreed time at a volleyball event. Please get in touch and we can arrange a time!

Best wishes,

Laymond
