Trophy Series 2024/25

An “Event” for the purposes of the each series, will be a TANSW sanctioned event.

The Overall Series will be consist of:

• Three (3) Travelers’ Trophy events  (TTs) - these form the Traveler's Trophy Series.  
• Three (3) Metropolitan Cup events (MTs) - these form the Metro Trophy Series. 

“Eligible Boats” for each Event will have a sailor onboard, who is a current full member of TANSW.  

Scoring

One score will be assigned to boats for each Event, based on a low point system. 

The first placed Eligible Boat will receive 1 point, the second placed Eligible Boat will receive 2 points and so on.

If a boat does not sail at a particular Event, then the boat will be assigned a score equivalent to the total number of Eligible Boats that sail in the Series, + 1.

Overall Series Scores

The Overall Series score for an Eligible Boat will be the sum of its scores for all the Events, and:

• 1 Event score can be discarded if 4 Events are run.
• 2 Event scores can be discarded if 5 or more Events are run.

Notes:

a) The Tasar Class rules will apply.

b) Performance handicaps will be assigned to each boat, for series handicap score. Initial handicaps will be assigned at the sole discretion of the Race Secretary.

c) If an Eligible Boat attends an Event but decides not to sail, then the Race Secretary will determine an appropriate score for DNS etc.

d) A skipper will be allowed to change crew during  the series, noting that the onus is on the skipper to ensure that no systematic attempt has been made to sail with heavy crews in heavy weather and light crews in light weather.
