ANZAC Range Security
The Metropolitan District Rifle Association (MDRA) manages the opening of the ANZAC Range in line with NSW Police FIrearms Registry requirements. The MDRA take responsibility for security - protocols and people - that help ensure the safety of our local community and our members.
The Full-Bore Range
A 40-target range with shooting distances from 300m back to 800m, used by members with target rifles, F-class rifles and sporter rifles. (Refer to Our Shooting Disciplines)
MDRA volunteers maintain the fullbore range and target facilities and support the smooth running of club shoots and competitions.
The Service Range
The Military Rifle Club operates on the 400m Service range with 20 target positions, using a mixture of military rifles and modern sporting rifles. There are weekly matches which are shot at different ranges (100 to 400 metres) using a variety of firing positions - prone, sitting or standing. These matches use a mixture of target types with limited target exposure times.
The Military Rifle Clubs Association (MRCA) manages and maintains the Service Range.
The Horseshoe Ranges
The HorseShoe Range comprises three small ranges - two of 50 metres and one of 100 metres. The shooting disciplines operating in these ranges vary from center-fire pistols and rifle as well as rimfire rifles and pistols.
The MRCA also manages these smaller ranges including the schedule of users.
Club Houses
The ANZAC range is home to a number of Rifle Clubs whose members gather in club houses in club blocks A, B, C and D. (Refer to NSWRA Clubs - Sydney East)
Canteen
Based at the furthest end of the C-Block from the main gate -The MDRA provides a canteen for members and authorised visitors when the range is open.
NSWRA Shop
Our shooting supplies shop is situated next to the MDRA Office in C-Block.
The NSWRA Bar
Currently only open at the close of each day during our major events, the NSWRA Bar is a friendly place for members and competitors to gather in the evenings, watched over by the subjects of photos of past and present teams and individuals of note, as many a story is told.
The Dehn Auditorium
Named after Gustav (Gus) Oswald Dehn (1899-1963), who was a Life Member of: the NRA of NSW (now NSWRA); the MDRA (President for over 10 years); and Bankstown Rifle Club, the Dehn Auditorium has been the venue of many past Championship presentations and for NSWRA's Annual General Meetings. It is also the current meeting place of MRCA clubs.
Event Accommodation
Permitted for use during registered competition events, the ANZAC range includes a caravan park, a family unit with full kitchen and bathroom, and several units containing bunk beds, most with kitchenettes and some with shower and / or toilet. Bookings are made available with competition entries.
Amenities
Toilet and shower facilities are available for men and women when the range is open for use. These are situated at the full-bore range end of B-Block. Both male and female facilities have a washing machine and dryer and a clothesline is available in the caravan park.
During competition, ablutions are available for men in the demountable building near the caravan park and for women underneath the main administration building - facing the caravan park. Note these facilities are wheelchair accessible and therefore also available as a unisex ambulant facility.
Caretaker
Our caretaker resides onsite as required by our landowner and supports the NSWRA with general maintenance around our facilities.
