Attn all competitors, MJ families, and supporters,
Regretfully, I must advise that after consultation with the BYRA Commodore and club committee, and based on current information being provided by NSW Health we have decided to postpone the upcoming Australian Championship.
It is not a decision that was made lightly. The safety of our sailors has and will always be our top priority, and in the current situation in relation to COVID 19 on the Northern Beaches the MJ association and BYRA are unable to guarantee the health and safety of our sailors. As an association, we also need to be supportive of the Government restrictions that have been put in place along with any ongoing recommendations. Hosting this regatta can't take priority over the health of our wider community.
Having said that both BYRA and the MJ Association are fully committed to completing the 52nd MJ Nationals at BYRA this season! We have already been discussing potential re-sail dates for a condensed regatta - being around the last week of school holidays at the end of January or around the Easter long weekend.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year and to thank the supporters of our great class.
We will provide further updates as soon as information comes to hand. Any concerns or enquiries can be directed to manly.junior@gmail.com
Regards,
Rob Napper
President - Australian Manly Junior Association.
