North Queensland Sabot Association is run by a group of highly-motivated parents whose goal is to offer a fun and family friendly environment that builds confident young sailors on the racecourse, and fosters a lifelong interest in the sport of sailing.
Each year, members of the NQSA participate in 7 regattas throughout North Queensland in a competition called the Travellers Series. It is a competition that allows sailors to compete against each other in each regional regatta. Each regatta has a 'junior' competition that includes multiple classes (sabot, optimist, BIC, etc). The regatta awards prizes to the winners of the competition, based on handicap positions. NQSA will award prizes to the winning sabot sailors, who are members of NQSA.
The regattas are held at clubs in
Airlie Beach
Tinaroo
Ellis Beach
Kinchant Dam
Townsville
Mission Beach
Bowen.
