Course information

Registrations for this course are closed.

Want to race criteriums but don't know where to start? Come along to one of our free sills sessions and learn the basics so you are confident in your first race! Our qualified coaches will run you through some fundamental skills for both cornering and bunch riding, before finishing the evening with some pretend races.

These sessions are designed for riders 14 +. If there is extra interest we'll make sure to add extra coaches with smaller groups so you can get the most out of the sessions.

These sessions are free, and you don't need to be a member. This is not suited to beginner riders, but so long as you can confidently ride on your own we think you will be ready to get stuck in!

Victoria Park is a traffic free environment, but is regularly used by members of the public who don't always pay full attention to what's going on so all riders are advised to ride with care, and watch out for errant dogs, balls and pedestrians. We do hire the venue for these sessions, but don't have the volunteers available to help keep the track clear!

What is a Come and Try session?

Come and Try session give you the opportunity to try a club or discipline across BMX, mountain biking, track, cycle-cross or road under the guidance of experienced coaches. These sessions are run by clubs or AusCycling, and are generally free or a small cost.

No membership is required, and you be will covered with the same benefits as 4 Week Free Trial members when attending a Come and Try session.

Why Try a Club?

Clubs are a great way to meet new people, discover new routes, master your skills and improve your fitness by riding regularly. They also help support grassroots sport and ensure we get more people on bikes!

How do I join a Club?

You can try the club by attending a Come and Try session, there is no need to join a club or have a membership to start off with. After you attend the Come and Try session, you can take out a 4 Week Free Trial membership before you decide to join the club. More information on the AusCycling 4 Week Free Trial membership can be found here.

After your 4 Week Free Trial, you will need to purchase an AusCycling Lifestyle or Race membership to join your club (or multiple).

You can check our Club Finder here to identify the closest club(s) near you.
