Umpires
At the 2021 Senior Country Championships there will again be a strong focus on the development of regional umpires. As in recent years Regional Associations or individuals within them may nominate to officiate at the Senior Country Championships. Hockey Victoria will be supporting the development of umpires by providing Qualified Umpire Coaches and feedback throughout the championship for participants. It is strongly recommended that for each team that is entered, one umpire is supplied for the championship from the association. The value of this opportunity is to continue growth and develop skills in an external environment. At an absolute minimum, Associations will need to provide one umpire for every two teams entered.
Playing/Coaching at the Event and Umpiring
For those that wish to coach/play in the event and to umpire, there is the opportunity to request to umpire directly after their association’s games. The Umpire Manager will work closely with the individual to roster them to umpire matches that do not conflict with their playing or coaching commitments. Umpire appointments to the Finals Matches will be based on performance throughout the pool stage matches. Expressions of Interest to Umpire The link to register your interest to umpire at the 2021 Senior Country Championships is - https://www.jotform.com/hockeyvictoria/2021-outdoor-events-umpires The Umpire EOIs will close at 5.00pm Friday 9th April.
Volunteers for the Technical Bench
Please note also that associations will be required to provide a volunteer for all matches they are involved in to assist with the operation of the technical bench. This person(s) will be provided with guidance by the Tournament Director/Assistant Tournament Director. Duties will include keeping time and scores.
