AUSTRALIAN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS - PERTH

Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, managers and families who travelled to Perth for AYC. From all reports it was a busy week and a half and our U14 teams had a great week, while the boys had some tough games, they ended the comp with some wins. The girls’ team were unlucky not to be the gold medal match but came away with Bronze. An excellent result. All families and players enjoyed the experience and there was very positive feedback from everyone. Many remained in Perth to join ACT Dolphins teams.

Thanks to Sharyn, Anthony, Naomi, Regan, Lis & Don for all the hard work preparing, coaching and managing our teams for AYC. We are very lucky to have such committed and talented members of our club.

ACT Dolphins results at AYC. Both teams played with great spirit and teamwork.

16&U results - boys - 6^th, girls - 16th; 18&U results - boys 14^th, girls - 15th

Nordek members who were involved in Australian squad training camps after AYC competition were:

Youth - Ben Symington, Jade Arnold; Cadet - Rachel Allen, Ayrton Rogis

UTS BALMAIN 12S WATER POLO CARNIVAL was held on 4 to 6 January. Two Nordek Nippers teams attended. The ‘Icebergs’ (born 2010) were victorious taking out the Gold medal in the top mixed division. Will Patch won top goal scorer for the tournament.

The ‘Nippers’ (born 2011-2013) finished 6^th in their division. Sophia Lazarow won MVP for the Pandora division.

Congratulations to our awesome juniors, Bruce for organising our teams, Matt Cameron and Bruce for coaching and Lis for managing. Many thanks to our supportive parents.

NSW COUNTRY CLUBS CHAMPIONSHIPS

NSW Open Country Clubs Good luck to our Men travelling to Albury /Wadonga for NSW Open Country Club Championships this coming weekend.

NSW Junior Country Clubs is on 10^th to 12^th February where our U14 & U16 teams will be travelling to Northern NSW.

The Big Orange U12’s Festival is on 10^th to 12^th March in Orange, NSW.

Competition resumes for Seniors on 31 Jan and Juniors 4 Feb.

JUNIOR DOLPHINS - BEGINNERS

If you have family or friends who would like to learn water polo: -

The Canberra Water Polo Academy's Junior Dolphin Program is for kids aged 7 – 13 who are interested in trying the sport of water polo.

The Junior Dolphins program is a fun introduction to the sport of water polo and sessions will comprise of basic skill training and modified games. The only requirement to join is that your child can swim 25 meters Freestyle.

The CWPA Junior Dolphins program is for beginners and is the pathway to Nordek’s U12’s & U14’s programs.
