Terms Of Registration

Terms of Registration for New Wave Water Polo Club Members and Participation

1. Membership Eligibility:

  • Membership is open to individuals of all ages, subject to the club’s age-specific programs and teams.
  • All prospective members must complete the registration form and provide accurate, up-to-date personal information.
  • Membership is contingent upon payment of the required fees and adherence to the club’s Code of Conduct.

2. Membership Fees:

  • Membership fees are determined annually and must be paid in full by the due date specified by the club.
  • Fees may cover coaching, pool access, insurance, and other club-related activities.
  • Non-payment of fees may result in suspension of membership and access to club activities.

3. Participation Requirements:

  • All members must adhere to the club’s training schedule, attend practice sessions regularly, and notify coaches in advance of any absences.
  • Members are expected to maintain a good level of physical fitness appropriate for their age and the demands of water polo.
  • Members must wear appropriate swimwear and equipment as prescribed by the club during training and competitions.

4. Behaviour and Conduct:

  • All members are expected to uphold the values of respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Bullying, harassment, or any form of discrimination will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership.
  • Members must follow the instructions of coaches and officials and respect the rules and regulations of the sport and the club.

5. Health and Safety:

  • Members are responsible for their own health and must inform the club of any medical conditions that may affect their participation.
  • In the event of an injury or medical emergency during a club activity, members (or their guardians) consent to receive appropriate medical treatment, and the club will not be held liable for any outcomes of such treatment.
  • Members must adhere to all safety protocols established by the club, including those related to pool safety and hygiene.

6. Insurance and Liability:

  • Membership includes insurance coverage as part of the club’s affiliation with [insert governing body, e.g., Water Polo Australia]. Members are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the scope of this coverage.
  • The club is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property that may occur during club activities, except where required by law.
  • Members participate in all club activities at their own risk.

7. Media and Privacy:

  • By becoming a member, individuals (or their guardians) consent to the use of their images, videos, and names in club promotional materials, social media, and other communications.
  • The club respects the privacy of its members and will handle all personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Personal information will only be used for club-related purposes.

8. Competitions and Representation:

  • Members selected to represent the club in competitions are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the club.
  • Participation in competitions may require additional fees, travel, and compliance with specific competition rules.
  • Members must wear the official club uniform during competitions and represent the club with pride and integrity.

9. Termination of Membership:

  • Members may terminate their membership at any time by providing written notice to the club. However, no refunds will be issued for fees already paid.
  • The club reserves the right to terminate the membership of any individual who breaches these terms, engages in conduct detrimental to the club, or fails to comply with club policies.

10. Amendments to Terms:

  • The club reserves the right to amend these Terms of Registration at any time. Members will be notified of any significant changes, and continued participation in club activities will be deemed as acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Agreement to Terms:

  • By registering as a member of the New Wave Water Polo Club, individuals (or their guardians) acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms of Registration.

Terms of Registration for National Water Polo Day Mixed Fast 5 Competition (Junior)

1. Eligibility:

  • The National Water Polo Day Mixed Fast 5 Competition (Junior) is open to participants born 2009,2010 and 2011 as of 14 September.
  • Participants must be registered members of a recognised water polo club or school team.
  • All participants must have a completed and signed waiver from a parent or guardian if under 18.

2. Registration:

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited team slots available.

3. Team Composition:

  • Teams must consist of a mix of male and female players, with a maximum of 10 players per team.
  • Each team must have a designated team captain (or Manager/Coach) responsible for communication with event organisers.
  • Teams must adhere to the Fast 5 format, with five players in the water at all times.

4. Event Rules:

  • All games will be played according to the rules and regulations provided by the event organisers.
  • Participants are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship and adhere to the event’s code of conduct.
  • Any player or team found in violation of the rules or code of conduct may be subject to disciplinary action, including disqualification from the event.

5. Health and Safety:

  • All participants must be in good physical condition and able to swim confidently.
  • Any existing medical conditions or injuries must be disclosed to event organizers prior to participation.
  • Participants and their guardians acknowledge the inherent risks associated with water polo and agree to participate at their own risk.

6. Cancellation and Refunds:

  • If a participant or team needs to cancel their registration, a  request must be made in writing to the event organisers.
  • The event organisers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer their registration to the rescheduled date.

7. Media Release:

  • By registering for the event, participants and their guardians grant permission for photographs, videos, and other media taken during the competition to be used by the event organizers for promotional and marketing purposes.
  • Participants and guardians who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must notify the event organizers in writing before the event.

8. Liability Waiver:

  • All participants must sign a liability waiver releasing the event organizers, sponsors, and venue from any claims or damages arising from participation in the competition.
  • Guardians must sign the waiver on behalf of participants under 18.

9. Code of Conduct:

  • All participants are expected to behave respectfully towards other players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
  • Any form of bullying, harassment, or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification from the event.

10. Agreement to Terms:

  • By completing the registration process, participants and their guardians acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms of Registration.
