NCYC COURSE SPECIFIC INFORMATION
This Powerboat Handling course is aimed at particicpants who already hold their Start Powerboating certification or currently hold a General Boat Licence.
It is assumed that participants have a sound knowledge and skill as taught in the Start Powerboating course. You may check against the syllabus which can be dowloaded via the link below.
If you do not already have a Powerboat Program student pack with the textbook and Australian Sailing Logbook, you will be required to purchase one at an additional cost of $40. Please advise the Sailing Academy upon registration if you require a student pack.
If you do not currently hold either certification, please contact the NCYC Sailing Office and we will assist with alternate course date options to complete the full PBH course - sailingacademy@ncyc.net.au

Course Overview
This one-day course is designed to improve your boat handling skills, especially in confined areas such as marinas and in swell and waves. You will learn more about engines and types of crafts and practise navigation techniques on a passage. In some instances, you can take your completion certificate to your State Maritime Regulator and gain the State Boat License.
Course Prerequisites
Water confident. The skills and knowledge gained in Start Powerboating or equivalent power boating experience.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to further develop their powerboat driving skills. This course is also a prerequisite for becoming a Dinghy and/or Windsurfing Instructor.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Powerboat Handling completion certificate.
