WOMENS FRIDAY DINGHY SAILING

We welcome you to participate in this unique opportunity to spend some time on beautiful Port Stephens in a supportive & encouraging environment.  Our women's sailing experiences cater for ALL skill levels - in fact absolute beginners are our speciality!

Launching from the sandy beach, you will spend around 2½ fun hours learning basic sailing skills, terminology, and boat handling manoeuvres. You will sail on one of our Pacer dinghies with one or two other participants.  Our Instructors will guide you as you progress your skills.

You can attend one session just as an experience, or if you have a great time and get hooked, you can register to attend each week to continue to challenge, develop and progress your skills. We have many women coming back course after course in order to continue the development of their skills and confidence.  These sessions are also great opportunity for keelboat sailors to transfer their skills into dinghy sailing.

The women’s sailing experiences will also offer a great social time out on the water and an opportunity to laugh and clear your mind!!  We'll finish just in time to grab a coffee & cake from the beautiful Seaview Cafe upstairs!

Women of all ages over 16years are welcome! There are no special clothing or equipment requirements - just wear swimmers and warm comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement that you don’t mind getting wet.  A pair of enclosed shoes (like sandshoes/joggers) will protect your feet in the boat and on the beach. We supply a lifejacket.

Who should do this course?

This is the perfect 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time. This is the perfect introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.

Course Outcome

Following the course, you will receive a completion certificate.

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
