We welcome you to participate in this unique opportunity to spend some time on beautiful Port Stephens without having to buy your own sailboat. It might just whet your appetite to engage in one of our 4-day learn to sail courses or maybe join the Bay Sailing Centre’s regular racing fleet.

Our experienced sailing instructors will give you a taste of what sailing is all about aboard your own OpenBic dinghy. 

Launching from the sandy beach, you will spend around 2½ fun hours learning basic sailing skills, terminology and boat handling manoeuvres.  Friends and family will be able to watch the action and your developing skills from shore as we'll be right out the front of the Centre!

Suitable for children aged 8 to 13 years. 

The provied lifejacket must be worn at all times during the session.

Course Outcome

Following the course, you will receive a completion certificate.

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
