Start Line Tactics for Racing

Olympian, World Champion and Volvo Ocean Race Yachtsman, Chris Nicholson will offer his guidance and past experiences to assist you develop a winning start strategy.  Come as a crew and learn how critical it is for everyone to have start line skills!  They'll be plenty of time for questions and interction along the way.

Chris will discuss what you need to consider during your pre-start period, what information should you gather in the lead up to the preparatory signal, what's the priority consideration at the racing venue you're at (wind, waves, weather, landmass, tides/currents), how do you organise and communicate with your crew members so everyone is on the same page with your strategy, what to do once the prep signal is raised, where are you placed on the line and then the final count down to the gun . . .
