How to Match Race?

International Umpire & Judge, Damien Boldyrew will lead you through the process of how match racing works, which rules are different to fleet racing and how to get that critical advantage over your opponent!

With the Members Match Racing League to be held in the NCYC Elliott 6s, you'll be able to brush up your RRS knowledge, learn about the flags & what they mean, understand the start sequence, the entry process & "playful" pre-start maneouvers, as well as the best known tactics to gain back ground or penalities against your opposition at mark roundings and why overlaps are so critical!

Match Racing is a really fun form of sailing where you can use the racing rules to a tactical advantage, playing cat & mouse with your opponent.  

Understanding the application of the rules in match racing can also help you understand the fleet racing rules better and improve your overall sailing skills
