Elliott Training Camp

NCYC is committed to recognising, nurturing and developing local sailing talent and this winter we are offering inshore keelboat Coaching Sessions for Adults at NCYC.

The programme will initially consist of two training days, presented by local coaches with the aim of forming crews who can represent NCYC at several State and Nationwide regattas.

This programme will utilise our fleet of Elliott 6 sports boats and therefore would suit sailors with previous Open Regatta level experience.

Programme Goals

• Understand and develop advanced keelboat handling skills including the use of symmetrical spinnakers
• Fleet race training and regatta experience
• Developing a deeper understanding and knowledge base of the Racing Rules of Sailing
• Transitioning of yacht and/or dinghy sailing skills to an inshore keelboat sailing environment
• Execution of better teamwork dynamics
• Gain one-design regatta racing experience
