Bic Green Fleet - Spring 2024

Now it’s time to advance those racing skills, while learning a new style of boat!

Our Bic Green Fleet is open to young sailors who have completed Tackers 3 and at least 1 season of Tackers Green Fleet, and are keen to extend their sailing and racing knowledge. Sailing our new fleet of Bic's (or Open Skiffs), you’ll have a coach on water with you for assistance & guidance, but you’re now becoming a more proficient sailor & making decisions yourself!

Our Green Fleet sail on Sunday mornings during Spring & Summer.  The first race starts at 10:00am so, to give yourself time to be rigged and ready (this is now your responsibility), we suggest you arrive around 9:00am.  We are able to sail up to five short races each week (around 15 – 20minutes each) however the number we sail will depend upon the wind & weather.

The NCYC Sailing Academy abides by the Australian Sailing coach/student ratios, hence places are strictly limited.  To avoid disapointment, we recommend registering early.

The entry fee for this racing program is $220.

Member Discounts

Current financial NCYC members are offered a discount on training courses for their children or grandchildren - 10% for General Members and 5% for Crew Members.

NSW Active Kids Vouchers are accepted.

The NCYC Sailing Academy is proud to be an Active Kids Provider. If you would like to use an Active Kids voucher, please submit the 16-digit voucher number during registration.

Venue for Green Fleet

All of our club racing is run from the NCYC Sailing Centre across the river at Carrington (over the Cowper Street bridge).  Children should be dropped off and picked up from this venue.  There is ample parking in front of the Carrington Police Station and an easy walk up the lane to the Sailing Centre’s entrance gates.
