Tackers Intro

Tackers Intro is a 1-day session which gives kids and their parents a taste of the Tackers program.

It is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to dinghy sailing for primary school aged kids (6-12 years).

We are pleased to welcome participants to our Tackers Intro Session for the December 2021 school holidays. 

Session time is 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Training will be conducted in the Club's fleet of OziOpti Tacker dinghies.

The NCYC Sailing Academy abides by the Australian Sailing instructor/student ratios, hence places are strictly limited.  To avoid disapointment, we recommend registering early.

The registration fee for this session is $65.

The Tackers Intro is a perfect way to introduce kids to sailing without the commitment of the full week!  If they have a good time they can continue with a Tackers 1 course in the school holidays or during the term.  

Member Discounts

Current financial NCYC members are offered a discount on training courses for their children or grandchildren - 10% for General Members and 5% for Crew Members.

Course Overview
This is the ideal introduction to the Tackers program. 2.5-3 hours on-water activity to get children familiar with sailing in a fun, non-competitive environment with a pathway on to more sailing through Tackers. 

Course Prerequisites

• Water confident
• 7-12 years old (albeit where younger or older siblings or friends want to also participate, please contact your local Centre)

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to be introduced to the sport of sailing. It's an ideal course to determine whether you'd like to participate in a Tackers 1 course.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Tackers Intro completion certificate.
