NCYC SAILING ACADEMY INFORMATION

We are pleased to welcome participants on a Discover Sailing Experience on Saturday 31st July, 2021. 

This sailing experience will involve a three hour session, mostly on-water following a safety briefing and boat orientation.  We cater for absolute beginners who have never stepped foot on a boat before.  With guidance, you will be actively involved in sailing, pulling ropes, changing sides during tacks and working together as a crew.  There will of course be time to have a look around and view our city from a completely different angle!

The session will run from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Sailing will be conducted on the Club's fleet of Force 24 keelboats, which carry an Instructor and up to four course participants.  The boats will be sailed inshore on the waters of Newcastle Harbour.

All you need to wear are some comfortable, warm clothes that will allow you freedom of movement and a pair of enclosed shoes to protect your feet.  We will supply you with a life-jacket.

The NCYC Sailing Academy abides by the Australian Sailing instructor:student ratios, hence places are strictly limited.  To avoid disapointment, we recommend registering early.  

The registration fee for this course is $80.
