'BATTLE @ THE BEACHES'

Junior Water Polo Tournament - July School Holidays

The focus is on having fun with your mates from School, Surf Club, Soccer, Netball, Footy, Softball etc, and playing Water Polo along the way.

Get your friends together and make a team... its lots of fun!!

  • DATES - Tuesday 14th, Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th, July 2020
  • VENUE - Warringah Aquatic Centre, Aquatic Drive, Frenchs Forest
  • TIME – Estimate start 10:30am to 3:30pm each day. To be confirmed
  • ENTRY - REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT IS A TWO STEP PROCESS.....

STEP 1. The Coach/Manager is to submit a TEAM ENTRY, which is to include the list of players:- Team entries will close Friday 3rd July, 2020 - Teams are to consist of a minimum of 8 players, maximum of 10 players per team. Teams can be mixed gender

STEP 2. ALL players must register and pay individually and this is to be completed separately, by 3rd July, 2020. Late Registrations will only be accepted if spaces are available. Late Registrations will incur a $20 late fee.

  • COST = $100 per player (this covers, pool hire, pool entry each day, refereeing, equipment etc)

If you are not part of a team and wish to complete an Individual Entry, at the time of Registration for your Team Name, please type “No Team” and we will endeavour to place you in a team.

U14’s – Born 07. 08 & 09

U12’s – Born 09, 10 & 11

U10’s – Born 11, 12 & 13

We are offering a competitive tournament, but in a low key fun environment

Modified Tournament Rules

Age Groups - Ideally teams should only consist of a maximum of 8 players.

  • U14’s – Born 07, 08 & 09 (note Born 09’s cannot drop back and play in 12’s group)
    • 6 players – 5 field & GK (prefer GK be rotated throughout the team)
    • Size 4 ball
    • Game time – 4 x 5 minute quarters
    • Teams can be mixed gender, however prefer separate gender so we can run boys and girls separately
  • U12’s – Born 09, 10 & 11 (note Born 11’s cannot drop back and play in 10’s group)
    • 6 players – 5 field & GK (prefer GK to be rotated throughout the team)
    • Size 3 ball
    • Game time – 4 x 5 minute quarters
    • Teams can be mixed gender, however prefer separate gender so we can run boys and girls separately
  • U10’s – Born 11, 12 & 13 – Must be able to swim competently and independently in the deep end of the pool
    • 6 players – 5 field & GK position rotated every quarter and or half, Coaches discretion
    • Size 2 ball
    • Game time – 4 x 4 minute quarters
    • Prefer teams to be mixed gender, boys and girls

• Teams must be ready to start on time, be ready 5 mins prior to your game. The clock will start ready or not. Both pools will start simultaneously.

• The team named first on the draw will wear white caps

• Teams will NOT change ends at half time, the Referees will swap.

• Players must wear the same cap number the whole tournament… it will be listed on the pre printed scorecards.

• Results will be recorded—3 for a WIN, 2 for a DRAW and 1 for a LOSS

• Pool size—Warringah Aquatic Centre deep will be divided into 2 equal water polo pools

  • WAC 1 is the diving board side
  • WAC 2 is the amenities side

• There will be NO goals allowed to be scored from free throws or from the defending half

• Where an exclusion is issued— players are to swim/move to their allocated corner, touch corner & return to play

• There will be NO 5 metre penalties

• A penalty shoot-out will only take place in the Grand Final games, in the event of a draw at full time

• No shot clock, turnovers at Referees discretion

• Each quarter/half the GK must be changed. They will wear the GK cap. “GK” must be recorded in the half/quarter they play GK on the score card

• Caps will be provided and must be returned and placed on the hook immediately after each game

• All balls must be returned to tubs

• Lifeguards will be providing First Aid
