The Northern Beaches Water Polo Academy - "The Water Polo School"  has been set up to to manage, promote, encourage and develop  Water Polo on the Northern Beaches and beyond, specialising in Grassroots programs.

• Flippaball for boys and girls 6 years to 10 years -  (Ages are grouped together)
• Junior Development Competitions and Programs 10 years to 12 years
• Junior Development Competitions and Programs 13's and above - on request (minimum numbers required)
• Northern Suburbs Schools Competition
  • Opens (Term 1 & Term 2) - Years 10, 11 & 12
  • Intermediates (Term 2 & 3) - Years 8 & 9
  • Year 7 (Term 3)
• Social Ladies & Mens Competitions  
  • On request (minimum numbers required and subject to pool availability)
• Water Polo Event & Competition Management

We work in partnership with the Sydney Northern Beaches (SNB Breakers) Water Polo Club to assist with their Representative Pathway selections.

Northern Beaches Water Polo Academy - The Water Polo School v SNB Breakers Water Polo Club 

Some people are a little confused regarding NBWPA - The Water Polo School verse SNB Breakers Water Polo Representative Club... Please know they are separate entitites and run independently of each other, however work in partnership and share Coaching and Refereeing resources so the program is streamlined from Beginner through to Representative.

The NBWPA - The Water Polo School runs all the local junior development competitions and programs, whilst the SNB Breakers is Representative... you need to trial and be selected for SNB Breakers Representative teams.  Ideally, players sign up and attend all the NBWPA sessions and competitions well in advance of attending the trials for SNB Breakers...  (Players who are selected in the SNB teams usually start around 8/9 years of age and attend the skills session and play games one to two years prior to being eligible for selections.

Players can register with the Northern Beaches Water Polo Academy - The Water Polo School at anytime. There is no registration fee required. However, when wanting to attend one of the local skills and drills sessions or competitions an event fee is applied when registering for that event.

Players should not register with SNB Breakers until they are advised they have been selected in one of the Representative teams.

It is recommended that players start with the NBWPA - The Water Polo School Splashball/Flippaball program at round 8 years of age and progress as required through the Skills and Drills sessions and local Friday and Sunday competitions.

Players selected for SNB Breakers and play with Northern Beaches Water Polo Academy - The Water Polo School in the local competitions and skills sessions will have separate login username and passwords for each entity.

Term 1 - 2024

• Friday Nights at Manly - 9 February to 22 March 2024 - 7 weeks (Division 1 Boys and Girls)
• Sunday evenings at Warringah Aquatic - 11 February to 24 March 2024 - 7 weeks (Division 2 Boys and Girls)

Term 2 - 2024

• Sunday's at Warringah Aquatic Centre - 5 May to 30 June 2024 - 8 weeks (exemption date 9 June - long weekend)

Term 3 - 2024

• Sunday's at Warringah Aquatic Centre - 28 July to 22 September - 9 weeks

Term 4 - 2024

• Friday Nights at Manly - 18 October to 6 December 2024
• Sunday evenings at Warringah Aquatic - 20 October to 8 December 2024

• OPENS ( Years 10, 11 & 12) will  commence on Friday 5th April 2024 and finish on Friday 28th June 2024 - subject to change due to team entries

• INTERMEDIATES (Years 8 & 9) will commence on Monday 29th April 2024 and potentially run through to Monday 5 August 2024 - subject to change due to team entries

• YEAR 7 - will commence in Term 3, 2024 - Friday 26th July through to Friday 20th September 2024 - subject to change due to team entries
