Published Sun 13 Sep 2020

Barron holds off a fast finishing Alex Seen to win his first race since he ironically won the same event in 2017.

The fast flat 2 lap course was held around the picturesque Westbury Village green and town common.  In second place was fast finishing Alex Seen with Barbara Clayton fading into 3rd.  In the shorter races it was Ruby Williams from Alexander Wood and Luke McKenzie in the 3km and Hunter Fitzallen finding her wings to win with a massive PB of over 1 minute per km in the 1.5km event.  Hunter was followed by Dale Kean and Hugo Green.

Fastest: In the 6km race, fastest runners were Jennifer Tait and Oliver Marshall.  In the 3km race, Alexander Wood and Sophie Marshall were fastest and in the 2km event it was Savannah McKenzie and Xavier Davie.

Personal bests from the same event in 2019: Division 1, Jennifer Tait and Denis Giasli. Division 2, Luke McKenzie, Sophie Marshall, Ben Giasli, Blaise Fitzallen and Jacquie Spencer.  Division 3, Hunter Fitzallen, Rohan Crawford, Jillian Parkinson and Savannah McKenzie.

A special thank you to all our volunteers.  Without who, we would not have a club… so THANK YOU!

Our next event will be on Saturday 19th in sunny Bridport.

End of Season Cross Country dinner.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions our event is capped at 84 people.  Please ensure you book early via our website so you don’t miss out.  Our end of season function is a great opportunity for us to celebrate our year and find out who won all the races, who are our division champions, and much more.  The event will be held at the Tamar Valley Resort at Grindelwald on the 17th October.  Full details on our website.

Our Delayed End of Season Track and Field dinner will be held at the Homage Restaurant at Woolmers Longford on the 3rd October.  Final details will be forwarded early this week.  Again, bookings essential and venue cap is 84.
