Veteran runner Walsh shows younger members how it’s done at Newstead Athletics Paper Beach run

On the back of his team medal from last week’s State Cross Country Championships at the Domain, Walsh easily wins the 8km club event at Paper Beach with the fast finishing Seen family father and son combination taking the minor placings.  Due to some technical difficulties, the other events of the day had to be re-calculated with Lily Button an easy winner in the 4km event with Josiah Poole second and Simeon McKee third, and Zara Green surprise winner of the 2km event followed by Anne Green and Oliver Mannion.  Thank you to athletes for understanding.

Fastest: Division 1 fastest in the 8km race was Jennifer Tait and Matthew Zegveld.  In the 4km race, Ben Giasli and Isabella Davie and in the 2km race Lachlan Preece and Alexandra Elliott. 

Personal Bests: Congratulations to Tony Walsh, Andrew Seen, Shaun Smith, Barbara Clayton, Jennifer Tait, Tristam Fitzallen and Craig Barron in 8km event.  No PB’s in the other events due to the change of distance.
