Heritage Forest – Season Opener
Thankfully the rain held off for our first run post Covid-19 restrictions.
While we don’t have official records, we nevertheless should congratulate Sam Clifford on smashing his unofficial course record from last year for the 5km by 22 seconds, completing the course in a blistering 14.16 minutes (2.51 per km!), and when he passed me he appeared to be only jogging!
Welcome to our new runners for our 2020 season and Welcome Back to our returning runners. I think we all coped well with the new covid-19 rules however I almost did a high 5 and a hand shake, stopping myself just in time! While probably the biggest change is our online registration system., thank you to everyone for putting up with this new way of life.
This weeks Winners: Division 1 Denis Giasli, Division 2 Lachlan Preece, Division 3 Savannah McKenzie. Congratulations
Bonus Points: Each year on our first event of the season we offer 20 bonus Consistency points for athletes who can beat their best KM rate from any race last season. Congratulations to the 14 athletes who managed this for 2020. See results for the list. Commiserations to Eliza Davie, Barbara Clayton and Tristam Fitzallen who missed out by only 1 second per KM on this bonus!
Fastest: Division 1 fastest were Sam Clifford and Vicky Gunn, Division 2 Lachlan Preece and Sophie Marshall (note Xavier Davie was only one second slower than Lachlan) and Division 3 fastest were Annabelle Cook and Riley Howard.
Personal Bests: beat your time from the same venue and division from last season. Division 3 congratulations to Annabelle Cook, Savannah McKenzie, Flynn Preece, Pippa Harmey, Evie Bye and Hunter Fitzallen. Congratulations to Blaise Fitzallen who was the only athlete who was faster in Division 2. and in Division 1, congratulations to Sam Clifford, Barbara Clayton, Jonathon Death and Tony Walsh.
