Grounds Duty

Set up and pack up duties by the GROUNDS ROSTER CLUB and TEAMS involves the following each Saturday:

Morning

  1. The GROUNDS ROSTER CLUB on set up duty must:
    1. Collect the trailer from the lock up area – each club has the combination for the padlock
    2. Set up the pitching & batting mats for diamonds 5 to 10. Diaomnds 5 & 7 require the 43 foot pitching mat.
    3. Put out the bases & benches for diamonds 5 to 10
    4. Check the diamonds for safety hazards and fix them – if unable to fix please contact Doug Stracey or Doug Freeman for direction on what to do
    5. Take out any shades not already picked up by the teams (see below)
  2. TEAMS playing in the first timeslot on diamonds 5 to 8 and 10 must pick the shades up from the Rueb Hudson canteen & set them up – please peg each leg of the shade securely with 2 pegs for each leg. There are no shades for diamond 9.

 

Afternoon

  • The GROUNDS ROSTER CLUB must:
    • collect mats, bases & benches from diamonds 5 to 10 & put them in/on the trailer
    • return the trailer to the lock up area & lock it securely
    • assist put shades amd anything else into Rueb Hudson canteen storage – if not already packed away.
    • Check all the teams playing on diamonds 1 to 4 have returned the base to the Abbott Rd canteen.
  • The LAST TEAM to play on diamonds 5 to 10  must:-
    • put the matts (rolled not folded), bases & benches near home plate
    • take down the shades & return them to the Rueb Hudson canteen
    • report any damage to the shade (to Doug Stracey or Doug Freeman) so we can get it repaired
    • remove all rubbish from the diamond and put it in a bin

  • The LAST TEAM on Diamonds 1 to 4 :-
    • 1st base team puts the bases into the trolly and returns them to the Abbott Rd Canteen.
