Manning Valley Hockey Association Incorporated (MVHA) is the managing body of the Taree Hockey Centre at Taree. The centre is located within the Taree Recreation Complex.
MVHA is one of over 50 hockey organisations in New South Wales and for a medium size regional centre has achieved significant acclaim in producing successful teams and athletes at state and national/international levels.
Manning Valley Hockey provides a safe and family orientated sport for people of all ages. We have over 750 members with games taking place at Taree Hockey Centre on artificial playing surfaces. This enables competition in all weather conditions creating great value for money.
MVHA Competitions
Our Junior Hockey Programs and competitions cater for participants aged 3-17.
Our Senior Competitions offer Men's and Women's competitions each consisting of 3 Divisions/Grades to enable people aged 13 and over of all levels to enjoy the sport of hockey. Both of our top grade Women's and Men's teams also compete in the Mid Coast Hockey League.
Representative Pathways
The opportunities to play at representative level by participating with Manning Valley Hockey Association are immense.
MVHA encourages development through pathways and performance and sends teams to Carnivals and State Championships starting from Under 11's through to Masters and has had much success.
MVHA Board of Management
The primary functions of MVHA is to deliver the physical infrastructure for modern hockey competitions and conduct hockey competitions for our stake holders through the management of the centre under a lease agreement with Midcoast Council.
The MVHA is operated by a Board of Management (BOM) consisting of an executive nominated and voted on by all members at The Annual General Meeting and a minimum of six (6) member representatives.
These representatives take responsibility for the Association portfolios. During the hockey season elected Board Members along with the elected executive assume portfolios to enable effective governance and enable the association to achieve its objectives of focusing on our members, business, game development, communication, performance and facilities.
The President and BOM of MVHA are responsible for the overall governance of the Association.
The MVHA has several other committees to help with specialist areas and the running of the competitions.
