The UniSport NationaThe UniSport Nationals provide an opportunity for students at 43 member universities from across Australia to compete head to head in a number of national standard sporting competitions. 

With a majority of events cancelled during 2020, this is the first time since 2019 that the water polo team may have the opportunity to once again compete against other university students from across the country.

Uni Nationals will be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, from the 25th of September to the 1st of October 2021. The week is a tournament based competition culminating with finals at the end of the week. More information will be made available as the event gets closer on the website, https://www.unisport.com.au/nationals. 

At this stage, the club is managing an EOI process to gain interest and understand capability of players interested for consideration by UniMelb as to whether a team will be sent. As I'm sure you understand, there are a number of logistical issues associated with travel at the moment, and the University is understandably cautious with any associated travel risks.

Any University of Melbourne Students who are enrolled in any study period in 2021 are eligible to play and will be expected to fund their own cost of the trip. The total cost has been around $1200 for flights, UniMelb accommodation package, and registration fees.

Please also forward this to other members of the water polo community who may be UniMelb students although not playing with our club.
