A World Cup style event

This event differs from usual regattas. The World Cup style concept involves a team of 28 people competing as Mixed 20s and Split men/women 10s crews across a range of distances

Team Composition – Build your own team!

• Crews can from a single club or any combination of clubs. This event is open to dragon pass holders.
• Crews enter a ‘fixed’ team of up to 28 paddlers (including sweeps, drummers, and emergencies) in a category. All paddlers must be entered on the team list. This list is set at the start of the competition and remains the same over the two days.
• Sweeps and drummers can be out of age, and any gender.
• Teams will do two events as a mixed 20 and two events split as a womens 10 and an Open 10 in different boats in the same race.
• (Mixed boats - maximum 50% males)
• All events will be in Peisheng 20s boats.  
• Age categories (“Regatta Age” is determined as the age on 31 December 2024)
  • Juniors 10-18 yrs;
  • Premier (no age restriction);
  • Seniors 40+,
  • Seniors 55+,

Combined Scoring and Races

Each team competes in each of the races and the combined results in all of those races are used to determine the Championship winners.
Racing as Mixed 20s - The team will compete in 2 events:

• 100m
• 500m

Racing as Split 10s – The women will be in one boat and others in an open boat they will race as a split 2-boat team in 2 events. Click here for the course maps:

• 200m relay
  Women 1st leg – Open 2nd leg
• 1km pursuit (on 200m course)

• • Uses 200m course,
  • Women start in middle at 100m,
  • Open start 100m behind,
  • 4 anticlockwise laps.
    It’s a chase!

Cost per team

• $2600 (inc GST) per team

Awards and points system

• Every race counts, with points allocated to every finishing position.
• Placegetter awards per category, plus the perpetual ‘Southern Cross Cup’ will be awarded to the team winning with the highest number of points across all categories.
