Class Descriptions

 

Tiny Tots     

Tiny tots is for our littlest movers and grovers. This class is a fun introduction to Physie for 2-4 year olds in a 30-minute dance lesson once a week.

 Girls and boys will be introduced to the basic Physie positions and learn how to move to music in a fun and supportive environment. 

Their confidence will be developed, along with good posture, strength, flexibility and coordination. 

 Tiny tots will share their love of dance and physie with family and friends by displaying their moves in a number of competitions throughout the year.


 

5-8s Years        

Our second littlest performers of the club. This class involves the ‘3 F’s’; fun, fitness and friendship. Introduction of dance technique occurs, along with progressive stretching and performance development for competitions. 

Girls and boys will take what they have learnt in the Tiny Tots and apply this to some more challenging exercises. There is an option to compete both individually and in a team of 5-8 performers once in this class. 

This class provides a fun space for your child to make new friends and learn new movement, coordination and rhythmic skills for life! 


 

9-12s years

Our juniors class is filled with students 9, 10, 11 or 12 years of age. This class is full of focused and dedicated physie dancers who are striving to be the best they can be! 

The work starts to get progressively more challenging with this age group, adding extensions for those 11-12 years of age. Flexibility, strength, posture and performance are all developed and encouraged to be practised in class and at home. Working both individually and in teams is a fun way to create a supportive and fun learning environment. 

We look forward to developing your child's dancing and performance ability in an inclusive environment! 


 

Teenagers (13- 17 years) 

This class is for girls aged 13-17 years of age. Whether you have grown up dancing/ performing or you are new to dance, with Physie, a new passion in your life will be discovered! 

Strength and conditioning training continues in this age as work becomes increasingly harder. Cross training between pilates, ballet and dance conditioning occurs in a fun and challenging environment. This strength and creativity can be taken to the next level as you practice with friends for teams and as an individual. 

This class is an empowering space for a teenager where friendships are made that will stand the test of time. Physie will give you the confidence and skills to perform your best in school and life! 




Seniors (18 years +) 

This class is for girls aged 18 and over. These classes are inclusive, welcoming beginners and experienced dancers alike. This group is also split into divisions based on physie experience and results. 

This class involves focused strength and conditioning with a fusion of pilates and barre. The physie syllabus for this age can be challenging, however in our classes this  is broken down so that all class members can grasp the work. Seniors can also choose to compete individually and in a team. 

This class enjoys regular outings whether it be for drinks, dinner and sometimes the odd group reformer pilates class. Our goal at Mounties is movement & motivation and this is best done through positive group morale.

Ladies (25 years +)

A class designed for ladies over the age of 25+. Our class has a mixed range of abilities, from ultimate beginners to seasoned physie ladies. Ladies are split into divisions based on past physie experience and history. 

Our classes are focused on building strength, flexibility, posture and improving overall movement efficiency. Members can choose to compete both individually and/or in teams OR just come for the exercise. 

We pride ourselves on having a fun and welcoming environment and like to have a number of outings throughout the year.
