Where to meet
On the first day of the course please meet your instructors upstairs in the Mornington Yacht Club, 10 minutes prior to the beginning of your lesson.
What to bring
Compulsory
- Hat
- Closed toed shoes that can get wet
- Sunscreen
- If it is cold, fleece jumper or multiple thermals
- Water (drink bottle)
Recommended
- Sunglasses
- Waterproof “spray jacket”
- Towel
- Pen and paper to take note
- Please do not bring any valuables or wear jewellery that can be lost in sand or water
- Lunch

This course develops both your theory and practical skills to confidently take control on the helm.

Water confident and the skills, knowledge and experience you gained from Start Crewing.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who want to learn how to helm a keelboat, and continue their skill development as crew.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Helming completion certificate.
