Why is Green Fleet important for sailing development?
Green Fleet is the place where budding sailors solidify their skills and confidence so they are prepared for afternoon club racing or just want to hone their skills and not race. It is a safe, friendly environment where they can build friendships, and expand their comfort zone whilst learning new skills. They will also develop boatcare skills and learn the ins and outs of being a sailor at Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club.
Program Focus:
Following the structure and instruction in learn-to-sail programs. Green Fleet is an introduction to coaching and learning to train.
Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.
During the Program sailors are encouraged to take part in freesail activity, and to trial a variety of boats, boards, and other club related activity through age appropriate design.
