Fees Overview

Basketball Club Fees - An Overview

There are 3 seasons (competitions) of basketball for CSBA which is played on a Saturday and 4 seasons for EBL which is played on a Sunday every year.

CSBA: Played over 3 seasons/terms on a Saturday.

  • Comp 1: Feb – April
  • Comp 2: May – August
  • Comp 3: September - December

EBL: Played over 4 seasons/terms on a Sunday and works in conjunction with the school terms.

You can play basketball with Maccabi in one of two ways:

  1. you can train only; or
  2. you can train and play as part of a team that competes in either: the City of Sydney competition (run in Alexandria/Marrickville); or the EBL competition (run in Eastern Suburbs).

At the start of each of the seasons, you need to pay fees to Maccabi Basketball which cover coaching, venue hire, insurance and (if you play competition) team entry into a competition.

In addition to the Maccabi Basketball fees, each player is also required to pay:

  • Maccabi Basketball Annual Membership fee. This covers your insurance, maccabi nsw membership fee, and other costs associated with playing/training for Maccabi Basketball during 2025. The membership fee is charged at the same time when registering for your initial program or term and is valid for the entire calendar year. • Association Registration – CSBA ( Saturday Comp) fee’s. This is completely separate from the Maccabi club fees and needs to be paid directly with CSBA. Please CLICK HERE to be taken to the CSBA registration website

What do my Club fees go towards?

The Maccabi Basketball Club is a not-for-profit entity. The club has many expenses in providing the best possible service for its members. Fees go directly to things like:

  • Team competition entry fees
  • Training facilities
  • Coaches
  • Insurance
  • Equipment

What happens if I don’t pay my fees?

At the start of each season fees must be paid within the first 2 weeks. Failure to pay fees by this time will result in that player being forbidden to attend training or play any further games.

This rule will be strictly enforced.

Why does basketball seem more expensive than other sports?

As basketball is played throughout the year, the associated costs of providing this service (team entry fees, facilities & coaching) are naturally higher than some other sports which may only be played for a season (e.g soccer/netball in Winter only).

In actual fact, when the costs are averaged out based on per month, basketball is quite a competitive option compared to many other sports

Refunds

Refunds are only given if you have registered and there is no longer a team available for your child.

If your child has an injury and is no longer able to play for the term, refunds will only be given if the injury occurs within 2 weeks of the season beginning. After that no refunds will be given.

Withdrawal Fee

Anyone who cancel their registration after committing to the program will incur a withdrawal fee for the amount of $40
