CONGRATULATIONS - DJ Bobart, Lachlan Blackmore and Billy Price

These boys were selected in the U15 squad of 60 players after the state championships held in Bundaberg last September. Since then they have been training hard leading up to the team trials which were held in Brisbane in February. Billy and DJ were selected in Team 1, Qld Maroon and Lachlan was selected in Team 2, Qld Gold. They only came together as a team in Brisbane for 2 days before heading to Newcastle for National Championships.

The teams were in separate pools and met in a very hard-fought and high energy semi final. At the end of the game Qld Maroon defeated Qld Gold 2-1 to make it through to the Gold Medal match. Qld Gold then went on to play and win a Bronze medal.

Qld Maroon made it through the competition undefeated and won against WA Gold 5-1 to take out the title of U15 National Champions and win a Gold Medal.
